Thailand's Highlights
The SEA Teacher Exchange Students program is designed to empower student teachers by enhancing their teaching skills, fostering the practice of English language proficiency, broadening their regional and global perspectives, and exposing them to diverse teaching and learning environments. This initiative also emphasizes the value of flexibility in education. During my one-month practicum in Udon Thani, Thailand, in collaboration with Udon Thani Rajabhat University, I had a significant opportunity to hone my English communication skills, given that English served as our primary means of interaction.
As an aspiring educator with a vision centered on promoting collective excellence to unite diverse communities globally, this project provided a firsthand experience of the variations in educational systems and the impact of specific cultures on the overall education landscape. Additionally, the project imparted different methods and techniques for teaching English, aligning perfectly with my aspirations. I can confidently state that I successfully met the objectives set forth by this project.
Navigating through various schools, including Udon Thani International School, Ban Thong-in Suan Morn School, Ban Mueang Thong Border Patrol Police School, Ban Nong Kung Kaew, and Don Bosco Vittaya School, highlighted the substantial challenge of language barriers. However, the key takeaway was that with pure intentions and a genuine desire to teach students, these barriers proved surmountable.
In essence, Udon Thani Rajabhat University extended beyond the basic objectives of this project, providing a wealth of knowledge applicable to educational contexts in the Philippines. I express my sincere gratitude for this invaluable opportunity and extend appreciation to all those involved in making this project a reality.
